VoBo Endpoints
The VoBo TC and GP-1/HL-1 are industrial grade LoRaWAN bridge endpoints that convert wired instrumentation into wireless devices, making them ideal for remote temperature monitoring. With models featuring multiple analog inputs and a model dedicated to monitoring 12 thermocouple channels, they integrate seamlessly into a LoRaWAN network enhancing automation efforts, even in hazardous areas. Featuring 3+ years of battery life, a rugged enclosure and long-range communication capabilities, VoBos provide a dependable, scalable solution for temperature monitoring in remote or hard-to-access locations.
How it Works
Common temperature sensors are read by the VoBo TC or GP-1/HL-1 and transmitted over the air at a plant or over long distances, providing a cost-effective solution for connecting devices. Utilizing low-power LoRaWAN technology, the VoBo provides the visibility needed to optimize operations.

COMPATIBLE SENSORS
A VoBo can read the output signal of common temperature sensors and efficiently transmit the data to a LoRaWAN network.
The VoBo TC accepts up to 12 thermocouple inputs:
- Type B, E, J, K, N, S, R, and T
- Reports in degC, degF, or mV
The VoBo GP-1/HL-1 accepts :
- RTD with analog transmitter
- 4-20mA, 0-5V and 0-10V
- Modbus RTU devices

WIRELESS BENEFITS
With VoBos, wireless connectivity of flow meters enables operators to:
- Improve process control
- Enhance operational efficiency
- Reduce flow device connection costs
- Meet regulatory compliance
- Detect and mitigate anomalies early
- Improve safety in hazardous conditions

The VoBo utilizes LoRa, a long-range, low power, radio technology used in LoRaWAN networks. These networks are very cost-effective to deploy and scalable. The VoBo further reduces costs in many cases by eliminating cabling requirements for communications and power to the measurement points. The standards for LoRa and LoRaWAN are overseen by the LoRa Alliance. Volley Boast is a member of the LoRa Alliance. Additional information on LoRa and LoRaWAN can be found at lora-alliance.org.
